NELPG at S&DR200

2025 saw the celebration of 200 years of the railway as we know it today. On 27th September 1825, Locomotion No. 1 hauled the first passenger train between Darlington & Stockton, a vision spearheaded by George Stephenson and Edward Pease. 200 years later and our locomotives were used in various locations throughout the year to help celebrate when the railway became a revolution and put travel by rail very much into the public eye.
